"The Cleansing Fire" - A Poem

I will be picking back up with my "Staying Positive While Living with Chronic Illness" series shortly. Of which I've needed to heed my own advice over the last week, as it has been fraught with some personal challenges. So, here's a quick poem I wrote about it :)

hide away
hide away
from this haze
of sadness and pain
that claims
this body, this house
hasn't been a home
too much insanity condoned
for even a mouse
to feel comfortable staying here
in this house
this home
got to get the fuck out
before they own
our souls, thoughts, habits
gotta get the fuck out
see opportunity, grab it
like a life preserver
and never let go
keep pushing further
until we're so far from this house
this broken home
that it's nothing but a feeble memory
lost and alone
like I feel now in this room
while insanity persues
those just outside the door
let us escape this sickness
and be free from it evermore
evermore I love you
my love
I know the two of us can rise above
this muck and mire
the cleansing fire
is so painful it's exquisite
but if it makes us stronger
than it's worth it
isn't it?

Thank you for reading! Stay strong in whatever battles you're facing at the moment :)

Patient Review - Medical Cannabis Product - Mary’s Medicinals Transdermal Patches!

*Note: I am an independent, third party patient, reviewing new products that come into the dispensary I have designated as my Primary Care Center. They highly value constructive feedback from a patient who has a genuine debilitating condition, as well as previous experience in the industry. I hope my unique and candid insights help the Medical Cannabis Industry continue to evolve in ways that always keep patient needs first.* Please, if you find any value from this blog, please consider making a donation to the PayPal link at the top right of the page. Catching up with the Times - First Vlog Post! "Organic Doesn't Mean GMO Free"

Greetings All! Apologies for dropping off, again . Since I last posted here, I have been working through a very comprehensive Elimination Diet. I am putting together a write-up about my experiences and discoveries thus far, but I have been detoxing in the process (yes, detoxing from food !) and so have been extra "inflamed" as I call it. Lots of pain, brain fog, and debilitating fatigue. I keep telling myself its worth it, and it is, but its the most difficult challenge I've faced yet in my life, which is saying something considering I've seen some shit. Since writing has been challenging for me due to my cognitive dysfunctions, and crappy ergonomic chair and desk set-up, I've been playing around with the idea of starting a podcast. I don't have the proper equipment just yet for that, so for the interim I plan to post rants on YouTube. Here is my first one, inspired by some facts I picked up this morning while browsing the Interwebs. I hope you find it informa...

Free of the Rat Race! (free write 4/19/10)

"Buy the ticket, take the ride." - Hunter S. Thompson "Think from outside the box, collapse the box and take a fucking sharp knife to it." - Banksy So last week I caught the midnite showing of Banksy's new film "Exit Through the Gift Shop". I found it to be a fascinating examination of the street art scene. I have always loved "street art". Being a SoCal native I have held the privilege of constant exposure to the very best graffiti and I never tire of taking in as much as I can when I am in the city. But seeing that film really set me on fire. Witnessing the culmination of the artists and their creations is so inspiring to me. These are people who live with out fear or limits. They take risks for their chosen form of expression on a nightly basis while the world sleeps, or right out in broad daylight while the world sleepwalks. These artists really live their lives by their own terms and are free because of it. The majority of the p...
